What are your thoughts about stereotypes after reading the articles we’ve read and after our discussions?

Writing

Writing is like a form speaking. a way of communication since old time. without writing, we wouldn’t know our history from the past. I want to learn to use correct grammar. I want to become a better writer as I am as a reader and be able to express myself in my writing.being able to write essays quickly and not struggle with how I write it. try not to use repetition, also push myself not to use simple words and try to use more complex words.

What do you know or want to know about writing?

I am an aspiring secondary education English teacher, so as far as what I plan to know it everything. I want to know how to write short and long responses to the best of my ability. I want to know the root words to more complex words and the appropriate grammar for all my essays. I also hope to learn how to write a well drawn out essay in a limited amount of time.

Writing

Since the beginning of times, writing is an amazing method of communication.The history tells us about different forms of writing like in Egypt which was already in use before the rise of the Early Dynasty and is thought to have developed from  Mesopotamian and came to be known as hieroglyphics. Scripts, books and many other forms around the world were appearing with the past of the times, many historical cultures prove that writing could be printed in many objects with different tools.In contrast to the present when we write scripts, articles on paper, post, text on social media.But besides the technology, traditions and decades past the information that now publishes we like to conserve just to show and print our point of view or educated future generations in a sophisticated way.Writing is an organized way to express ourselves.Also this is part of daily life, improving our communication with everybody around the world.This tool can be used to express feelings in different languages giving them access to show and print inspiring emotions and  guides to inform or educate.

Grammar, vocabulary, and organization are significant to complete or reinforce ideas and write documents, I know that most of the writings but not all have to have an introductory paragraph, a body that will contain proves examples, researchers also debate with the author. You need to argue or agree with any objection and explain your topic sentences and concluding paragraph in which you will summarize thesis statement and in some cases end with a question.In general writing, I can mention that a text can be with full ideas and Its recommendable do a prewriting that includes notes, brainstorming, outlining and gathering information then drafting will be excretion of  ideas in sentences and paragraphs.To support ideas and connect them add extra information from notes or research that you have to do at the beginning will make the thesis stronger. Before you start to explain the text, you will need to describe the problem in a paragraph. Then you need to explain how you would find a solution either with an argument or agreement.Another key point and the last one will be revising and editing the document, it is important on this part to pay attention to expectations that you want for the readers even if It  is in a persuasive or informative manner.

What I mention at the top is part of what I remember about writing but, there are a lot of amazing things that I want to learn and improve because writing is an extensive, interesting procedure.There are a great number of ways that writing can be made of, and each has its own guidelines and an important part in the world of writing.These could be an autobiography, books reviews, descriptions, diaries, essays, fables, etc etc.All of those forms of writing is what I want to learn. Also, I want to learn grammar, punctuation, organization, in other words, connect ideas and find mistakes by my own then express them in a piece of paper in a professional and understandable way for the reader and me.In addition to this I need to put emphasis when I give my ideas because Tone is important in any text; I want to have a tone that is reasonable, convincing, appealing, and logical. Moreover,  These are my issues learning how to write and create monologues, literature, speeches, it will be a tremendous improvement in writing for me if I learn or challenge myself.

  My purpose and expectation for this class and the rest of my career is developed usable material writing quality paragraphs, essays, books that make me shine no matter what writing its in.The magnitude of my mistakes or issues is going to be polished with time and effort.

What you know or want to know about writing?

In this paper I will be writing about what you know and won’t to know about writing. I will talk about the things most know about writing, and the things that are not really know about writing. I will give you examples explaining theses things.

The first thing I believe all writers should know is Know your audience. Knowing your audience can help in writing because knowing who your audience is will make it easier as a writer. One other thing is don’t worry about your mistakes. I believe that not worrying about your mistakes can help a writer because Miles Davis said and I quote“ if you play a wrong note, play it loud and everyone will think you played it on purpose.” I believe this can also help a writer because you never know the mistake you make may or may not make your story and or paper better. One other thing I know about writing is that reading helps you become a better writer. There is wisdom to be found in everything you read. This won’t make you a better writer, but you will have a wealth of interesting information. The last thing I know about writing is that Speaking and listening as much as possible can help someone learn more about writing. This can help a writer because you may not realize but the more you speak and listen to others the more vocabulary you can pick up and learn.

Some of the things most don’t know about writing is Procrastination, thinking your work is crap and worrying about what other people think. Some may not realize this but procrastination is one of the biggest problems for a writer because the more they procrastinate the longer it will take for them to finish their paper and or book. Thinking and or worrying about what other people think is something else that most don’t realize hurts someone when they are writing; because you start to think about what they are going to say and not write what you feel or show be focused on. Motivation follows action is something else that most don’t know about writing. You don’t have to be motivated to write; If writers only wrote when they just felt like writing they would never write. Just start. And then you will feel like it. Something else that most don’t know about writing is that you don’t have to set such big goals. Often when writing people set goals that are too big for themselves and a lot of the times don’t actually meet that goal. The last thing most people don’t know about writing is that None of us knows how the story is going to end. That’s the reason writers write. To find out how the story ends. No writer has ever wrote a book or story and know how it was going to end when they started it.

In conclusion these are some things you know and won’t to know about writing. I talk about the things most know about writing, and the things that are not really know about writing; I have examples and explained them the best way I could.

Writing

When it comes to writing, most of us are told to try and put feeling and emotion without trying to put our own opinion to it. As a high school student I have been taught to find a way to grab the readers attention with a good starting sentence. Most of the time when explaining reasons we are told to use evidence to back up our reasoning. By the end of our writing we are told to find a connection or bring back the introduction by summarizing. Most of the time when writing students have to write in a certain way depending on what subject the writing is for, history we write our papers in past tense and in other cases it would be in the present time.

What I would like to learn to help improve my writing is to gather my information or reasonings in an organized way, because the only trouble I really have when it comes to writing is my organization.

 

I consider myself an introvert, I have always been quiet and shy, not because I don’t have anything to say, but because that is just the way I am. I speak in short sentences and I speak only the things that I really need to say. Therefore, writing has been my escape, more like a safe haven. A teacher once told me, “Paper can hold whatever you write on it, so write big, write loud, and pour your feelings.” And every time I write, I remember those words, and I just pour my feelings into whatever I am writing. Writing is a very essential part of my life, as been and always will be, If there is one thing I love to do, is writing.

From this class I expect to learn how to write academic papers, how to organize my thoughts, and how to enjoy the process of writing other things such as research papers, or essays with specific topics. I also would like to learn how to make a successful outline and brainstorming.

I remember when I first learned how to write. It was a letter in Thai which is my first language. At that time I also had to learn three languages which is Thai, Chinese, and English. It’s was tough to remember everything but then my family decided to migrants to United States it was more difficult than anything else. My languages skills was not strong like others people, so I got bullied but I didn’t know what people were saying to me. I was more like a shy girl, quite, and wouldn’t say anything back. It took me a year to learn the basic of English and confident in myself which I learned through movies and musics.

I really learned how to write when I was in 8th grade. They basically teaches me about essays outline and vocabulary which I didn’t know that what it was the first time they introduced that to me because in Thai we don’t have to write these kind of essays so I was pretty slow in the class. However, my teacher help me through everything I didn’t get an A but at least I try my hardest to get B. Then I went to high school and it was a International High School that didn’t really help me with my writing they only cares if I can speak English probably and do some of the essays right. My grammar didn’t really matter so no one told me what is right and wrong and I live through it until now my last year of high school. I really hope that in this class I will learn more about grammar and how to write like professional. In the future after I graduate from high school and start a new semester in a different college I hope that my English will be much stronger than right now.

Writing

Throughout my life writing has always play an important part in my life. Learning new things throughout books and research papers. I’ve experienced a hard time when I was younger with reading and writing, I couldn’t write curtains words and had a hard time spelling things. Things were difficult every school year but after a while things got easier. Also writing has let me to express myself when I needed to vent or talk to someone. In writing I’m able to express things I can’t throughout words and how to start an argument when I need to. It has also helped me to make a great conversation with someone.

The things I want to learn about writing is how to making my research paper better with knowing what to put or how to use other words besides repeating myself multiple time. But everyday we always learn something new. Hopefully throughout this class I’m able to learn new things and can improve with my writing skills.

Writing

I grew up loving to read, it’s what made me have a much broader understanding towards everything. Reading daily was an essential to me, not writing. Writing was always a little difficult for me, probably because I self doubted myself thinking I could never become like the authors I’d admire at the time. Still till this day I’m self conscious of my writing but I’m more willing to see my faults and learn. The concept of reading and writing have many similarities, yet it’s completely different at the end of the day.

In my writings I’m able to; argue, create and make deeper meanings or connections. This is only because I grab all of my influences from books and life experiences. I believe that you don’t ever finish learning how to write, it’s always something new. I know that there are different techniques towards writing and a proper form of writing and that’s what I’d like to learn, go into more dept of proper writing. Every writer has a sort of style when it comes to their writing, it’s like they’ve created this disguised and luring affect that hooks readers. I’m sure it took them a while to get there, where they believe that they’ve made their writing unique to everyone, including themselves. I want to learn how to make my way of writing unique because I could use this ‘ability’ to later use, since within this generation it’s about how to express yourself in every form of shape, whether it’s oral or in good old literature
